Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a Guest Services Coordinator to support a smooth and positive visitor experience. You will welcome patients and visitors, assist with wayfinding, admission, and transport, and monitor lobby safety and cleanliness.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills to act as a friendly organizational representative, provide clerical support, and help coordinate information sharing to ensure excellent patient and visitor experiences.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally to ensure they feel informed during their time at the hospital.
• Monitor and provide a secure check-in for all guests, verify identification, and enforce visiting hours and protocols with the Visitor Management System.
• Assist in the patient admission when ambassador is not present.
• Sorts/re-addresses patient mail and ensures delivery to mailroom.
• Prepares Mended Hearts forms for the Mended Hearts accredited visitors.
• Assist the blood drive coordinator with tasks to organize quarterly blood drives.
• Provides clerical support to the Volunteer Services staff.
• Reports cleanliness and safety issues in the lobby area.
• Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints, escalating as needed.
• Work closely with security to ensure guests adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Serves as a liaison between guests, hospital staff, and patients regarding policies and visiting hours.
• Attends NMHS and Guest Services Departmental training (and meetings) as assigned.
• Maintains and safeguards patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Complies with regulatory and licensing agencies and NMHS/NMMC policies.

This role utilizes strong communication and organizational skills to serve as a positive organizational representative, complete administrative and clerical tasks as needed, support volunteers, and facilitate information sharing to ensure the optimal patient and visitor experience is provided.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally to ensure they feel informed during their time at the hospital
• Monitor and provide a secure check incheck-in for all guests, in accordance with hospital policies, including verifying identification, and ensuring compliance with visiting hours and protocols and utilizing the Visitor Management System.
