Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a Guest Services Coordinator to ensure a smooth visitor experience at the Tupelo campus. You will greet guests, assist with check-in, support admissions, and coordinate with volunteers and staff to uphold safety and service excellence.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment. A high school diploma or GED is required, with 1–3 years of relevant experience.

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Guest Services Coordinator at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for supporting the provision of a smooth and positive visitor experience, including welcoming patients, visitors, and surveyors, assisting with wayfinding, admission, and transport, and monitoring the lobby and waiting room areas for safety and cleanliness. This role utilizes strong communication and organizational skills to serve as a positive organizational representative, complete administrative and clerical tasks as needed, support volunteers, and facilitate information sharing to ensure the optimal patient and visitor experience is provided.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Coordinate:
Greet all guests warmly and professionally to ensure they feel informed during their time at the hospital
Monitor and provide a secure check incheck-in for all guests, in accordance with hospital policies, including verifying identification, and ensuring compliance with visiting hours and protocols and utilizing the Visitor Management System.
Assist in the patient admission when ambassador is not present.
Sorts/re-addresses patient mail and ensures that it is delivered to mailroom.
Prepares Mended Hearts forms for the Mended Hearts accredited visitors.
Assists the blood drive coordinator with tasks to organize the quarterly blood drives.
Provides clerical support to the Volunteer Services staff.
Reporting:
Reports cleanliness and safety issues in the lobby area including the restrooms.?
Address and resolve any?guest?concerns or complaints promptly and effectively, escalating issues to appropriate hospital staff, as needed.?
Work closely with security to ensure that all?guests?adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, including emergency procedures.?
Communication:
Serves as a liaison?between?guests, hospital staff, and patients, ensuring clear and effective communication regarding hospital policies, visiting hours and patient information, etc.?
Reports special issues to security and other departments.
Attends all NMHS and Guest Services Departmental training (and meetings) as assigned.
Regulatory:
Maintains and safeguards patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Complies with regulatory and licensing agencies.
Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills.
