Job summary

L'Auberge Baton Rouge is hiring for a host/hostess to provide timely service, greet guests, and manage seating. You will work with restaurant staff, handle menus, inform guests of specials, and use a computerized cash register. The role requires strong communication and money-handling skills, and you must be 18 or older.

Qualifications

• One year of experience relevant to the responsibilities or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with guests.
• Demonstrated money-handling and math skills.
• Demonstrated ability to operate computerized cash register.
• Must be age 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide especially timely and knowledgeable service; Always find solutions to guests' problems. Use the guest's name when appropriate.
• Greet and seat guests at tables according to guest preference and table availability.
• Provide guests with menus and inform guests of restaurant specials and feature items.
• Coordinate with food servers, bus persons and other restaurant personnel in providing guest service.
• Operate electronic cash register system to accurately and immediately account for payment transactions and transports monies to and from the main Credit cage.
• Keep cash register and host area stocked with necessary equipment, forms and supplies.
• Ensure dining and serving areas are set up and maintained according to standard.
