Job summary

Peoria Park District is seeking a part-time Guest Services Rental – Assistant to support Peoria Zoo and Luthy Botanical Garden. You will assist in rental sales, prepare marketing materials, and help plan and set up events.

On-site oversight includes possible alcohol service and concessions duties, with occasional shifts on weekends or holidays. You will work under the Sales & Events Coordinator, ensure safety procedures, and help generate reports on inventory and revenue while providing

Qualifications

• Experience in business, hospitality management, or a closely related field preferred.
• At least two years of experience in event management, sales, and customer service.
• BASSETT Training Certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
• Valid Illinois State Driver’s License required.
• Extensive customer service and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively; ability to work independently; professional, respectful and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rental sales, including correspondence and on-site visits and bridal show attendance.
• Prepare and distribute marketing materials for rentals.
• Plan and set up rentals for assigned events and provide rental oversight.
• Assist with alcohol service and on-site event management.
• Serve as point person in absence of Sales & Events Coordinator.
• Support special events, concessions operations, and daily practices.
• Perform cashier or concession duties as needed.
• Prepare inventory, revenue, and expenditure reports.
• Work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
