Job Description

The Guest Service Agent provides friendly and informative guest service, assists with guest luggage, and manages tour group luggage handling. Responsible for safely parking, operating, and retrieving guest vehicles. Interacts with customers, issues and collects parking tickets, assists patrons in and out of vehicles, and performs miscellaneous assigned activities.

  • Provides superior guest service, positively interacts with guests and team members, and handles difficult guests professionally.
  • Adheres to department and property policies regarding guest service standards.
  • Assigns guest accommodations according to current procedures.
  • Assists guests with luggage storage, scooter, and wheelchair rentals.
  • Handles assigned bank properly and performs account postings.
  • Maintains knowledge of hotel occupancy, events, groups, and daily operations.
  • Computes bills, collects payments, and makes changes for guests.
  • Manages room reservations, modifications, cancellations, and confirmations.
  • Processes guest accounts efficiently at checkout.
  • Maintains positive guest relations and refers concerns to appropriate personnel if needed.
  • Knows all hotel services and entertainment options.
  • Answers inquiries about hotel services, shopping, dining, and directions for properties including Belterra, Belterra Park, and Ogle Haus.
  • Completes operational duties such as sorting mail, daily reports, and maintaining public areas.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by Hotel Leadership.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate all related equipment, including keyboards, phones, fax, copiers, printers, bell carts, scooters, and wheelchairs.
  • Effective communication skills with guests and team members.
  • Ability to move around the Front Desk area and handle guest transactions.
  • Proficiency in computer use for guest information management.
  • Ability to work in noisy, crowded environments depending on guest volume.
  • Flexible to work varying shifts and schedules.
  • Willing to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is a plus.
  • Effective guest service skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certifications according to regulations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

The required skills are typically acquired through a high school education or equivalent, plus two months of on-the-job training or related experience.
