Hyatt Hotels Corporation is opening a brand new hotel in Downtown Gainesville and seeks a self-motivated Hotel Host to greet guests, assist with welcome amenities and manage front desk tasks.

The role includes cash handling, guest privacy, resolving issues quickly, and collaborating with food & beverage operations including bartending and barista duties. Prior guest service experience is preferred.

Looking for an exciting opportunity to open a brand new hotel in Downtown Gainesville? Join our opening team! We are seeking a self-motivated professional Hotel Host. The Hotel Host is responsible for greeting guests and providing excellent service, preparing/assembling welcome amenities, ensuring all cash drops are done in accordance with proper cash handling procedures, maintaining a clean and organized front desk area, handling confidential guest information, resolving guest complaints professionally and quickly, working with food & beverage operations including bartending and barista duties.

The Hotel Host creates an experience for our hotel guests by offering them a larger than home experience with welcoming, helpful and exceptional service, while maintaining a clean, comfortable and inviting environment. This position is responsible for the complete guest experience; to include the Hotel Host Stand, the Bakery Café, the Guest Kitchen, guest check in and out and the servicing of the meeting rooms. Previous guest service experience as well as the ability to communicate well with guests is required.

We have high expectations for this wonderful new product and are looking for someone with a passion for hospitality to fill this role. Working closely with the management team, there is a great opportunity at this hotel to develop a diverse skill set and grow within Hyatt. The salary range for this position is $15.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant customer service role preferred.

• Must be outgoing and a proven self-starter.
• Weekends and holidays may be required as business needs warrant.
• Must have schedule flexibility for both AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Requires strong command of the English language to include speaking, reading and writing.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced position.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate to heavy amount of weight (minimum of 20 lbs).
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and move moderate distances.
