Position Title:

Guest Service Representative

Immediate Supervisor:

Guest Service Manager or Assistant GM

Major Function

Represents the hotel to guests by performing sales and customer service functions related to guest registrations, reservations, and revenue collections, ensuring a safe, secure, and pleasant stay with friendly, attentive service.

Essential Functions
  • Provide high-quality service, anticipate guest needs, and exceed expectations.
  • Read, write, and understand English to serve guests effectively.
  • Assist guests courteously and professionally, maintaining high standards of service and hospitality.
  • Greet and register guests, handle reservations, special requests, and communicate with other departments.
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently and professionally.
  • Promote hotel amenities, current promotions, and loyalty programs.
  • Manage reservations, cancellations, and the company's “walk” policy.
  • Balance cash, checks, and credit card transactions accurately, and communicate shift information effectively.
  • Post charges, compute bills, and handle payments following cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel services, rates, discounts, and policies.
  • Answer inquiries about hotel services, local attractions, and directions.
  • Protect guest privacy and maintain security protocols.
  • Keep the front desk area clean and safe, report hazards promptly.
  • Manage keys securely and assist with public area maintenance.
  • Handle mail, messages, and phone etiquette professionally.
  • Assist in Food and Beverage service during busy times.
  • Maintain wake-up call logs and assist with special requests like valuables and amenities.
  • Deliver items and maintain supplies in the business center.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and report them accordingly.
  • Support hospitality programs and promote repeat business.
  • Lift and carry weights as specified, and follow emergency procedures.
  • Adhere to uniform and appearance standards, and comply with all company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
