Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The essential functions and responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to:

  1. Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times, providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  2. Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  3. Greet arriving guests and complete check-in procedures daily to ensure guest satisfaction.
  4. Facilitate guest departures by following procedures to close accounts and check room availability.
  5. Calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts, and credits accurately using proper cash handling methods.
  6. Answer inquiries and accept reservations in person and over the phone, utilizing reservation guidelines and demonstrating hotel features to create value for guests.
  7. Maintain good guest relations by staying informed about hotel and local events to answer questions promptly.
  8. Operate PBX equipment for calls, wake-up services, and guest communication.
  9. Control cash and credit transactions, maintaining responsibility for personal bank as per hotel policy.
  10. Process guest mail, messages, and faxes in a timely manner.
  11. Maintain communication logs and contribute to department information sources.
  12. Assist team members and other departments to ensure overall hotel performance.
  13. Deliver the "Home Away From Home" experience.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Often within management guidelines and company policies.

Working Conditions/Environment

Front desk/lobby area with access to the entire interior and exterior of the property.

Knowledge/Education/Experience

Minimum of one year or related experience preferred; knowledge of hotel front desk operations desirable.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements

English speaking, good customer service, communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, basic accounting, typing, cash register, and computer skills. Dependability required.

Physical Requirements

Standing for long periods, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 20 lbs), and other physical activities.
