Overview

Join the team at the Courtyard by Marriott Montvale! As a Front Office Agent, you will provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during check-in, their stay, and check-out, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy. Prior Marriott experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to guest inquiries regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  • Follow all cash handling and credit policies.
  • Be aware of all rates, packages, and promotions listed in the Red Book.
  • Familiarize yourself with all in-house groups.
  • Be aware of closed out and restricted dates.
  • Gather necessary information when taking reservations and follow rate-quoting procedures.
  • Understand hospitality terminology.
  • Know emergency procedures and assist as needed.
  • Handle check-ins and checkouts courteously and efficiently.
  • Use proper radio etiquette when communicating with staff.
  • Operate all relevant front desk computer systems proficiently.
  • Complete shift duties promptly and accurately, including reports and checklists.
  • Balance and prepare shift closing paperwork as per hotel standards.
  • Promote and market guest programs and promotions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
Qualifications
  • College coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Experience in hospitality or related fields preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills required.
  • Maintain a warm, friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with all staff and guests.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify guest and employee concerns.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Approach all interactions with attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism.
  • Maintain regular attendance as per hotel standards.
  • Adhere to personal appearance and grooming standards, including proper uniform and nametag.
  • Follow hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions to improve productivity.
  • Handle problems proactively, including anticipating and resolving issues.
  • Understand and apply complex information from various sources.
  • Cross-train in other hotel-related areas as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Show initiative by anticipating guest and operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
