Summary
Assist guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all Guest Service functions, maintaining high standards of service and hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality service to guests at all times. Address guest complaints and requests promptly and effectively.
- Check guests in and out efficiently and friendly.
- Post guest charges, compute bills, collect payments, and make change following all cash handling procedures.
- Handle guest mail and messages per established procedures. Be knowledgeable of Rewards programs and promotions.
- Develop knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, rates, amenities, and selling strategies.
- Take reservation requests efficiently.
- Answer switchboard calls following proper etiquette.
- Block rooms and handle special requests.
- Monitor room availability.
- Handle guest safe deposits per procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of lobby, back office, and desk area.
- Know emergency and security procedures thoroughly.
- Manage wake-up call requests properly.
- Maintain standards in cleaning guest rooms.
- Open and close shifts; make cash drops.
- Balance credit card, cash, and change funds during shifts.
- Report guest or system issues to management.
- Log pertinent information for incoming staff and management.
- Inform maintenance of needs.
- Handle guest lost and found inquiries.
- Assist in marketing efforts by completing nightly tracking.
- Wear proper uniform per standards. Know emergency procedures.
- Practice safety standards at all times.
- Move luggage or packages weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Follow rules in the M&R Employee Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
