Job summary

JW Marriott in Las Vegas is seeking an Engineer II – General Maintenance for the graveyard shift. The role involves skilled maintenance of guest rooms and hotel facilities, addressing repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring guest satisfaction while adhering to safety policies.

The position requires a minimum of five years in hotel/casino maintenance, strong problem solving, and the ability to operate power tools. Collaboration with Housekeeping and other departments is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of building maintenance within a hotel/casino environment.
• Knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS), occupational hazards, and safety practices.
• Ability to operate power tools and related equipment.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to balance pool and spa water chemistry.
• Fosters teamwork and delivers guest service beyond expectations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain guest rooms, corridors, and back‑of‑house areas in a safe, clean condition and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks (light carpentry, drywall repair, painting, electrical, plumbing, furniture repair).
• Inspect guest rooms regularly for maintenance issues and report findings to leadership.
• Respond promptly to guest service requests and maintenance work orders.
• Troubleshoot and repair common guest room equipment (HVAC, lighting, plumbing, doors, fixtures).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on guest room systems and equipment.
