Job summary

Mohegan Sun is seeking a hotel housekeeping attendant responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms. Duties include making beds, cleaning baths and floors, vacuuming, dusting, and replenishing linens and amenities to preset standards.

The role requires moving and lifting up to 25 lbs, standing for long periods, and working varied shifts. OSHA and safety awareness are essential for daily operations in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of cleaning experience or ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of safety practices with MSDS/OSHA procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms by making beds, cleaning bathrooms and floors, vacuuming, dusting and replenishing linens and amenities.
• Arrange toiletries and amenities to pre-set standards; maintain equipment and carts neat and orderly.
• Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor; follow chemical and key control procedures.

Position Summary:This position is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hotel guest rooms.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:• Responsible for making beds, cleaning bathrooms and floors, vacuuming, dusting and replenishing of fresh linens and amenities• Arranges all toiletries and bedroom amenities to pre-set standards• Maintains assigned cleaning equipment and tools• Keeps carts, linen racks and equipment neat and orderly• Reports unusual conditions, maintenance problems and repairs to a Housekeeping Supervisor• Follows established chemical and key control proceduresSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:• Maintains cleanliness and supply inventory in storage areas on the floors• Assists with recycling effortsMinimum Education and Qualifications:• Previous cleaning experience or the ability to use cleaning equipment and supplies• Must be able to communicate effectively in EnglishCompetencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:• Knowledge of Expresso paging/reporting system• Maintains an average room inspection score of 90% or higher• Ability to complete a fourteen credit quota within an eight hour shiftTraining Requirements:• Cleans guest rooms and maintains cleaning equipment according to department standards• Knowledge of regulatory safety practices on MSDS, OSHA regulations, Hazardous Communication and Blood borne pathogens• Understanding of the phone system that informs the Housekeeping Supervisor the room is cleanPhysical Demands and Work Environment:• Must be able to stand for long periods of time with frequent reaching, lifting and bending• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.• Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hoursThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with this job.
