Job summary

Lapez Mod Mex in Kansas City area is seeking a friendly server to welcome guests, take orders, deliver meals and collaborate with the team to ensure an outstanding dining experience. You’ll use Toast/POS, greet guests, and communicate clearly with the kitchen and bartenders.

Qualifications include 18+ with restaurant experience, ability to stand for long periods, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (Adhere to KS liquor laws).
• Previous restaurant experience.
• Previous serving experience preferred.
• Clean and hygienic appearance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend etc for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Genuinely welcome guests and engage them in unscripted conversation
• Listen to guests’ questions, needs, and concerns.
• Address each with attention, understanding, and by making recommendations
• Anticipate the guests’ needs or preferences by recognizing cues during dining
• Develop knowledge of Lapez Mod Mex standards, procedures, products, and services
• Use the POS/Toast as a primary method of communication and organization
• Deliver food and drinks to tables, communicate items to the table
• Facilitate charge and payment from guests
• Answer phones and complete those calls as necessary
• Communicate openly, clearly, and positively to guests, co-workers, and managers
• Embrace teamwork by assisting other team members
• Follow sanitation, safety and alcohol control policies
• General housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, cleaning equipment, stocking stations, servicing restrooms
