Job summary

J. Rieger & Co. in Kansas City, MO seeks a Server to provide knowledgeable, attentive food and beverage service across hospitality spaces and private events.

You will guide guests through menus, manage orders, and process payments with accuracy and care. Shifts vary with hospitality, private events, and operational needs. You may work across multiple spaces, assist with setup and breakdown, and uphold safety, sanitation, and service standards while maintaining product knowledge and guest

Qualifications

• Previous serving or guest-service experience in hospitality settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of food, cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol-service practices.
• Ability to learn and communicate information about menus, ingredients, allergens, and products.
• Strong communication, organization, time-management, and guest-recovery skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tables, orders, payments, and guest requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with point-of-sale or handheld ordering systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests promptly and provide attentive, knowledgeable, and professional service.
• Explain offerings, answer questions, and make recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Maintain knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and offerings.
• Enter orders and communicate dietary needs and special requests.
• Deliver food and beverages safely and according to standards.
• Monitor service areas and respond to guest requests promptly.
• Follow responsible alcohol-service requirements and verify IDs.
• Process checks and payments using approved cash-handling procedures.
• Coordinate with Hosts, Bartenders, culinary staff, and managers for timely service.
• Address guest concerns with management to resolve issues promptly.
