Job summary

Ralphs is seeking a friendly cashier/checker to create an outstanding customer experience. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system with various tender types while adhering to safety and loss-prevention guidelines.

Responsibilities include staying informed on ads, assisting with product questions, and maintaining a welcoming store environment. Flexible scheduling in full- and part-time roles is available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently
• Understand and operate the POS system and handle various tender types (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons)
• Follow company policy on cash handling and loss prevention
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
• Ensure a safe environment and report unsafe conditions
• Assist customers with questions about products and store layout
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
• Handle conflicts professionally
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information
• Support and assist through direct interaction with diverse customers
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
