Job summary

Viking is seeking a Hotel Purser to join our onboard leadership team. The role supports the Financial Officer in revenue and cost management and guest and crew administration, including posting, balancing, and reporting for all accounts in line with Viking’s STAR Service Standard.

You will foster a guest-focused service culture to drive guest satisfaction and repeat business, contributing to revenue and profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an onboard financial position.
• Financial background with exposure to financial analysis and budgeting.
• Strong administration skills; proficient with PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems.
• Previous experience in guest and crew administration is preferred.
• Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication.
• Experience leading multi-cultural teams; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Balance all departmental postings daily in MXP; report discrepancies.
• Perform cruise closing; audit cash floats; transfer End of Cruise reports to Head Office.
• Manage the cash book and ship safe; support tax duties; assist Department Heads.
• Support Crew Purser Admin with immigration procedures as needed.
• Check guest and crew information and ship documents in ports.
• Ensure daily management of guest accounts through MXP; post credits.
• Lead Hotel Admin; ensure up-to-date information on cruise activities and policies.
• Maintain relationships with local port authorities and ensure compliance.
