Job summary

Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV seeks an experienced line cook for our busy in-house kitchen. You will safely prepare items per recipes, rotate stock, and assist in presenting food to guests while maintaining quality and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ culinary experience in a high-volume restaurant kitchen.
• Culinary management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare all food prep and items per recipes and specifications.
• Ensure proper rotation to maintain turnover of products.
• Respond to guest inquiries with a positive, clear speaking voice and provide excellent guest service.
• Monitor staff performance, product quality and production flow; foster improvements.
• Coordinate with internal and external guests and hotel departments to provide optimal guest service.
• Read forecasts, menus and recipes to produce and delegate items for the work area.
• Assist cooks and team members in preparing, cooking and presenting food to standards.
• Complete food order requisitions using computer or paper to procure items for production.
• Audit storeroom items for quality, rotation and cost control; enforce sanitation and safety codes.
• Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
