Job summary

The Edgewater Hotel in Madison, WI seeks a Statehouse Supervisor to lead our signature restaurant’s food and beverage service as manager on duty. You will coach staff, run pre-shift meetings, monitor standards, handle guest concerns, and collaborate with hotel departments to ensure a memorable dining experience.

This full-time role requires supervisory experience, flexibility for nights/weekends/holidays, and knowledge of liquor, beer and wine.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a manager, supervisor, or lead in a restaurant setting (hotel or resort experience preferred).
• Strong supervisory skills with the ability to coach, train, and motivate staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Working knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine.
• Food Safety Certification preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and support Statehouse team members during service.
• Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate specials, reservations, and service priorities.
• Ensure compliance with food, beverage, and service standards.
• Act as manager on duty, handling guest concerns or complaints to satisfaction.
• Review and assist with inventory and supply levels as directed by management.
• Assign server sections and support floor operations during service periods.
• Monitor productivity and performance of service staff.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming restaurant environment.
• Support training and development of team members to promote consistent service.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
