Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; relevant retail experience considered.
• Good interpersonal skills to connect with customers and provide information.
• Basic math to handle cash, change, tax and balance registers.
• Must read and apply company procedure documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate and undivided attention to customers.
• Participate in promotions and store programs.
• Complete required training within set periods.
• Complete specialized training on deli food prep, handling and storage.
• Be aware of weekly promotions and suggest items to customers to increase sales.
• Receive payments and give back change.
• Operate cash register, credit card scanners, and other selling devices.
• Monitor gas pumps for safe operation and correct transactions.
• Prepare deli orders accurately.
• Follow Serve-Safe and portion control standards.
• Control deli waste, avoid spoilage, and manage inventory out dates.
• Read alpha-numeric data on registers and documents.
• Maintain accurate temperature logs for food and equipment.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work in coolers; climb steps safely.
