Job summary

SpartanNash, at 1527 Bashor Rd., Goshen, IN 46528, is hiring a Retail Associate to provide courteous guest service, process transactions, and assist customers with self-checkouts. You will operate registers, maintain clean departments, and follow safety and store programs.

Prior retail experience and strong communication skills are preferred, with duties expanding to other departments as needed. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required/preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Good customer service and organizational skills.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous guest service in person or by telephone.
• Process guest transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, WIC, food stamps and coupons.
• Operate cash register and assist guests with self-checkouts.
• Maintain a clean, stocked department and follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Communicate store programs, specials and coupons to customers.
• Notify lead/manager of pricing or register issues.
• May perform tasks in other departments as needed.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines and food safety standards.
