Job summary

The Rink at Rockefeller Center in New York is seeking a hands-on Shift Lead to support daily operations and act as an on-shift resource for team members. You will help ensure smooth, safe, and guest-focused shifts with hospitality at the core.

This hands-on leadership role requires guest-service expertise, a calm demeanor under pressure, and the ability to supervise across rink operations, with weekend and late-night availability a must.

Qualifications

• Previous lead, supervisory, hospitality, guest services, attraction, events, retail, or venue experience.
• Confident communicator who can provide clear direction and support to a team.
• Proactive, dependable, organized, and solutions-oriented.
• Strong judgment and ability to remain calm during high-volume periods.
• Weekend, holiday, early-morning, and late-night availability required.
• Ice rink or skating experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and deliver warm, genuine hospitality.
• Assist training and coaching team members across Rink operations.
• Support staff assignments, breaks, shift coverage, opening/closing, and daily operational readiness.
• Monitor guest flow, safety, cleanliness, capacity, and service standards.
• Provide direction and support to staff throughout the shift.
• Resolve routine guest and operational issues and escalate when appropriate.
• Communicate closely with the Manager on Duty and other team members.
• Step into hospitality, ticketing, access control, skate rentals, retail, photography, wayfinding, crowd management, and other Rink functions as needed.
• Anticipate needs and take initiative to keep operations running smoothly.
