Job summary

The Museum of Illusions in San Francisco is seeking a dedicated Shift Supervisor to oversee 7-10 floor staff during shifts, ensure guest satisfaction, and maintain exhibit operations.

You will handle guest questions, refunds, and discounts; escalate issues, support opening/closing duties, schedule staff, and contribute to a positive, memorable visitor experience, including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a customer facing role.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the arts, entertainment, performance or hospitality industry is a plus.
• Go-getter attitude, proactive and trustworthy.
• Ability to work under pressure; nights and weekends availability; open/close shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and direction to 7-10 floor staff during shifts; assign placements to meet operational needs.
• Monitor staff and guest satisfaction by being present on the museum floor.
• Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees when needed.
• Provide first-contact customer service to visitors; handle refunds and discount inquiries.
• Serve as escalation point for guest concerns; maintain museum cleanliness during operating hours.
• Perform museum opening and closing responsibilities and daily checklists.
• Assist with minor maintenance and training of new hires.
• Lead one of several roles on rotation: Operations Admin, Retail, or Guest Services.
