Job summary

The Marcus Corporation invites you to join The Studio as a Server, where hospitality and customer service shine as you guide guests through a menu that blends classic American fare with global flair.

Essential duties include greeting guests, taking and inputting orders via POS, delivering meals, handling payments, and upselling desserts and beverages, all while keeping areas clean and maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Ability to maintain standards for service, steps of service, and all departmental standards.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Knowledge of table settings, service ware, and menu items.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, promotions, and record orders.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
• Operate a keyboard and learn POS procedures to pre-check orders and close checks.
• Prior food and beverage experience required; hospitality experience preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Maintain professional demeanor and ensure cleanliness of uniform.
• Self-motivate during slow periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain specials or promotions.
• Record details of orders and repeat back to guests to confirm accuracy.
• Input orders into the POS system for the kitchen.
• Retrieve and deliver orders to guests, observing liquor regulations as required.
• Maintain a positive attitude and work as part of a team.
• Replenish beverages and upsell desserts or specialty coffees.
• Present checks promptly and process payments, thanking guests.
• Assist with clearing and resetting tables and general cleaning tasks.
