Job summary

Generation Hospitality is seeking a Server in the Restaurant department to deliver a welcoming, efficient dining experience. This hourly, full-time position emphasizes hospitality, communication, and teamwork as you guide guests through the menu, take orders, and ensure accurate, timely service.

You will balance friendly, attentive service with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment, supporting seamless collaboration with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a server or in a customer-facing role in a restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and operating a POS system.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist colleagues as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to lift and carry trays, plates, and other items as required.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices or willingness to complete required training.
• Minimum age requirement as determined by local laws and regulations, especially for serving alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, presenting menus and explaining daily specials or promotions.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system in a timely manner.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including ingredients, preparation, and potential allergens.
• Serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards, ensuring correct orders and attractive presentation.
• Check back with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or additional requests.
• Handle payment transactions, process cash and card payments, and issue receipts accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked dining area, including tables, service stations, and beverage stations.
• Collaborate closely with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures, including proper handling of food and beverages.
• Support opening and closing duties such as setting up sections, rolling silverware, and side work as assigned.
• Comply with restaurant policies, including responsible alcohol service and guest identification checks where applicable.
• Professionally address guest complaints or concerns and elevate to a manager when necessary.
