Job summary

The Welcome Center Attendant at Young Men's Christian Association in Savannah, GA is the first point of contact for members and visitors, providing friendly customer service, guiding program and membership enrollment, and promoting YMCA programs.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, processing memberships and drafts, answering inquiries, giving tours, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and supporting fundraising and outreach while upholding YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to foster positive staff, peer, and program participant relationships.
• Excellent phone skills using multiple lines.
• Strong computer skills; ability to operate multiple software.
• Ability to promote facility memberships, programs, and merchandise.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, problem-solve, and time-management.
• Ability to diffuse difficult, escalated, or emergency situations.
• CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.
• Pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children.

Responsibilities

• Cheerfully greet each person who enters the facility and assist as needed.
• Open/close the building at the designated times; ensure security.
• Clean and maintain various areas of the building through shifts.
• Verify memberships and provide facility access to participants.
• Register memberships and set up payment methods for drafts.
• Register participants for programs and make facility reservations.
• Answer inquiries about the YMCA, its programs, and mission.
• Provide tours to prospective members and promote programs.
• Report facility or equipment issues promptly and accurately.
• Contribute to member retention and support fundraising campaigns.
• Uphold the YMCA values and assist with overall operations.
