Job summary

Juliet Austin is seeking a friendly Host to warmly welcome guests and manage seating at the entrance, coordinating with servers to ensure smooth dining experiences.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, managing reservations and walk-ins, maintaining seating charts, and providing estimated wait times. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of hosting experience, excellent communication, grooming, and a warm, outgoing demeanor.

Qualifications

• Previous host experience of at least 1 year is required.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Excellent communication skills, both clear and effective.
• Exceptional grooming habits.
• Outgoing personality and a warm, friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet all guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
• Open the front door for guests entering or leaving when possible.
• Manage reservations and walk-ins to seat as many people as possible.
• Maintain a seating chart and arrange staggered seating when needed.
• Work closely with servers to ensure smooth operations.
• Record guest names and party sizes when immediate seating is limited.
• Politely find guests when a table becomes available.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
• Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible.
• Seat guests based on their preferences and balance customer flow in service stations.
• Offer menus, place settings, and inform guests of their server's name upon seating.
• Inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages or hand off chits to servers and buspersons as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
