Job summary

The Crossing in Charleston, SC is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests and set a positive tone for their dining experience. You will manage reservations, seating, and waitlists, coordinate with servers, and maintain a clean, organized host station.

This role requires strong communication and basic computer skills to ensure a smooth guest experience. Applicants should have a high school diploma and prior hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of POS systems.
• Ability to describe menu items and suggest house specialties.
• Read and write to facilitate communication with guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assess seating preferences.
• Escort guests to tables and present menus.
• Communicate wait times to guests and update as needed.
• Manage reservations and seating chart to maximize efficiency.
• Use reservation or waitlist systems to assign tables.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host station and entrance.
• Ensure menus are clean and presentable.
