Job summary

The Nines in Portland, part of Sage Hospitality Group, is seeking a Host to warmly greet guests, seat them, and support smooth service in a stylish, high-volume restaurant. You will establish rapport with guests, issue menus, and help coordinate seating while maintaining a professional, polished appearance.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and cash-handling experience. You should be comfortable handling payments, balancing the register, and delivering friendly, efficient

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 months experience in cash handling and customer service.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cash register systems.
• General knowledge of customer service, restaurant operations, and food service principles.

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving customers with a cordial welcome and escorts them to assigned tables.
• Issue menus, solicit rapport, and accommodate special needs or requests.
• Assign sections and notify servers of new seats to ensure prompt attention.
• Maintain a professional appearance and assist servers during the shift.
• Receive payments and process transactions at the cashier station.
• Balance daily receipts and reconcile reports with management.
• Keep the dining area clean and ready for service sections.
• Report maintenance or housekeeping issues in writing to management.
