Job summary

The Nines, Portland, part of Sage Hospitality Group, seeks an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support all restaurant operations and stand in for the manager when needed. You will supervise servers, ensure service standards, and help balance daily tasks in a luxury, guest‑focused environment.

This role requires 1–2 years in a related position, a high school diploma, and strong communication with guests and staff.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a related position.
• Advanced knowledge of food and beverage management.
• Excellent communication and guest service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor servers, runners, and other restaurant associates and ensure adherence to all service standards and SOPs.
• Supervise service of guests, being watchful of signals from guests in need of service.
• Assist manager to establish and monitor side-work duty completion.
• Maintain bank to SOP, keep it balanced and secure at all times.
• Read daily communication sheets from previous shift and prepare one for the following shift.
• Check restaurant for cleanliness and set up; ensure proper table setups.
• Communicate daily with restaurant manager regarding events and counts.
• Assist managers in conducting menu classes and taste panels.
