Job summary

Out West Restaurant Group is hiring in California for an hourly, non-exempt server’s assistant role at Outback Steakhouse locations. You will greet guests, seat them, coordinate dining flow, and support servers to deliver a warm, efficient experience.

We emphasize food safety, cleanliness, and hospitality, with opportunities for on‑the‑job training and advancement. California beverage service training can occur within 60 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• California beverage service certifications required (can be completed during training, and up to 60 days after start date).

Responsibilities

• M akes memorable first and last impressions with a smile.
• Greets incoming and departing Guests in a welcoming manner. Seats guests in the dining and bar areas, while ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff.
• Coordinates wait, and seats Guests with a sense of urgency.
• Always smiles and has genuine conversations with Guests.
• Demonstrates teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise.
• Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, job safety and sanitation standards.
• Busses tables, delivers food and supports the dining room, while ensuring every opportunity to WOW our guests is fulfilled.
• Will have a general knowledge of the food and drink menu and be able to recommend and upsell products.
• Answers the phone in a prompt and professional manner and directs calls.
• Leads the lobby experience for each Guest, following Outback hospitality standards.
• As a Servers Assistant, you will be assisting guests and supporting Servers by serving food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables, and ensuring a clean, welcoming dining environment.
