Job summary

Out West Restaurant Group Career Center is hiring for an Outback-style Server Assistant in California. This hourly, non-exempt role offers a $16.90 hourly wage plus tips, with benefits including health coverage and paid sick leave in line with ACA rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping.
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils and technology systems.
• Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Visual ability to include distance, close, color, depth and peripheral. The role involves working in areas with low or dim lighting.
• For all California based positions: Responsible Beverage Service Certifications Required (can be completed during training, and up to 60 days after start date).

Responsibilities

• Makes memorable first and last impressions with a smile.
• Greets incoming and departing Guests in a welcoming manner and seats guests in the dining and bar areas, ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff.
• Coordinates wait times and seats Guests with a sense of urgency.
• Always smiles and has genuine conversations with Guests.
• Demonstrates teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise.
• Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, job safety and sanitation standards.
• Busses tables, delivers food and supports the dining room, ensuring opportunities to WOW our guests are fulfilled.
• Knowledges of the menu to recommend and upsell products.
• Answers the phone promptly and professionally.
• Leads the lobby experience for each Guest, following Outback hospitality standards.
• As a Servers Assistant, assist guests and support Servers by serving food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables, and maintaining a clean dining environment.
