Job summary

Ruby Tuesday in Bedford, VA seeks a Server Assistant to provide a friendly welcome and farewell to guests. You will seat guests using the Table Management System, assist the service team, and maintain a clean server stand and front lobby area.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, managing wait lists, offering menu suggestions, handling carryout orders, and ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are followed at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be able to provide friendly guest service.
• Capable of handling cash and card transactions per policy.
• Operate a computer, calculator and phone as part of duties.
• Demonstrate good time management and organization.
• Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Be available for flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to procedures for using the TMS to seat guests and manage wait lists.
• Maintain a welcoming attitude and support a teamwork-based environment.
• Greet guests, assign tables via TMS, and manage wait notifications.
• Inform guests about features and promotions and offer menu suggestions.
• Address guest concerns and inform the Manager as needed.
• Assist team by delivering food/beverages, pre-bussing and refills.
• Set up and maintain server assistant stand and front lobby area.
• Answer the phone and respond to guest questions politely.
• Deliver correct drinks and food, when required.
• Practice safe food handling and cleanliness standards.
• Bag and manage takeout orders and check for accuracy.
• Ensure guests receive friendly farewells and solicit feedback.
• Observe tables and manage cleanliness and occupancy; clean as needed.
• Accommodate guest needs and requests such as refills or utensils.
• Clean and sweep around tables as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned
