Job summary

Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests and support the restaurant team at a premier resort. You will be the first and last contact, setting the tone for each guest's visit.

As the host, you will manage reservations, assist with seating, and provide guests with menus and dining options, contributing to a memorable hospitality experience on site.

Qualifications

• Previous guest service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to remain composed in high-volume guest-facing situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving guests promptly, warmly, and professionally.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and seating through the resort's designated reservation platform.
• Review reservations before each service period and identify VIPs, special occasions, accessibility needs, dietary notes, and other relevant guest information.
• Confirm reservations and guest information accurately.
• Maintain awareness of table status and coordinate seating with Servers and restaurant operations.
• Follow established seating rotation while considering guest preferences and operational requirements.
• Provide accurate wait times and proactively communicate changes or delays.
• Escort guests to their table and present menus appropriately.
• Answer restaurant telephone calls professionally and provide accurate information regarding menus, hours, dress codes, directions, reservations, and resort dining options.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all resort Food & Beverage outlets and operating hours.
• Assist guests with alternative dining recommendations when the requested outlet cannot accommodate them.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance.
• Ensure menus are clean, current, and in good condition.
• Recognize returning guests and appropriately acknowledge VIPs and special occasions.
• Communicate guest concerns and special requests to the appropriate team member.
• Never promise seating, discounts, complimentary items, or exceptions outside established authority.
• Assist with guest-flow management during high-volume periods.
• Support other host stands or Food & Beverage outlets as assigned based on business needs and training.
