Job summary

San Luis Resort, Spa and Conference Center in Galveston, TX is seeking a Host to warmly greet guests and set a positive first impression for the dining experience. You will assist with seating, provide menus, and coordinate with servers to ensure smooth service.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of restaurant experience, strong English communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment. Availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of restaurant experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Availability on weekdays, weekends, nights, mornings and holidays.
• Read and write in English and handle basic math.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with a genuine smile and positive attitude.
• Engage with guests, anticipate needs and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of menu, specials, and promotions.
• Handle guest concerns professionally or escalate to management.
• Assist with running food, delivering and refilling drinks.
• Guide guests to tables and present menus.
• Take to-go orders by phone and in person.
• Refill drinks and clear plates during dining experience.
• Provide great customer service.
• Provide highchairs and requested items as needed.
• Comply with federal/state laws including tip reporting and minimum wage requirements.
