Job summary

The Post Oak in Galveston, TX is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests and set the tone for an outstanding dining experience. You will greet guests, answer questions, and guide them to tables while upholding service standards.

As a first point of contact, you will maintain menu knowledge, assist with side duties, handle to-go orders when needed, and ensure guests leave satisfied. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of restaurant experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods.
• Availability on weekdays, weekends, nights, mornings and holidays.
• Must be able to read and write in English and handle basic math.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with a genuine smile.
• Engage with guests, anticipate needs, and respond promptly.
• Maintain knowledge of menu, specials, and promotions.
• Handle guest concerns professionally or escalate to manager.
• Assist with running food, delivering and refilling drinks.
• Guide guests to tables and present menus.
• Take to-go orders in person and over the phone.
• Ensure guests are happy with food and service.
• Refill drinks and clear plates as needed.
• Provide great customer service and assist with requested items.
