Job summary

Shell Shack, Inc. is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for guests. You will greet arrivals, manage reservations and seating, and help ensure a smooth, welcoming experience from arrival to departure.

This role requires clear communication with servers and managers, consistent, professional appearance, and strong organization to keep the host stand tidy and efficient during busy shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a host/hostess or in a customer-service role preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, polished appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide a friendly, welcoming first impression.
• Manage reservations and waitlists using the system or seating chart.
• Escort guests to tables and present menus.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of host stand, entrance, and waiting areas.
• Communicate accurately with servers and managers about guest needs and table availability.
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide restaurant information.
• Assist with special seating requests and accommodations.
• Monitor dining room flow to maximize seating efficiency.
• Support team by assisting with service tasks when needed.
