Job summary

IHOP of Houma is seeking a friendly hostess to greet guests, seat them promptly, manage waiting lists, and help maintain a welcoming, organized dining area. You will ensure guests feel valued from arrival through seating.

In this role you’ll collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to keep service flowing, answer phones, process To Go orders, and uphold IHOP appearance standards while delivering courteous, reliable customer service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with guests and team members.
• Greet guests within 30 seconds and seat them when a table is available.
• Rotate station seating to ensure service quality.
• Handle guest complaints and invite them to return.
• Handle cash accurately.
• Take register readings and cash drops per policies.
• Answer calls, take messages, and complete To Go orders.
• Maintain guest checks in numerical order.
• Maintain a waiting list when needed.
• Check restrooms for stock and cleanliness every 30 minutes.
• Clear and reset tables, chairs, booths, and floors after guests leave.
• Perform cleaning duties per cleaning charts.
• Adhere to IHOP uniform and appearance standards.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
