Job summary

Davidson Hospitality Group oversees Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course, where a Host/Greeter welcomes guests and manages seating with a warm, professional attitude. You’ll assist guests, handle reservations, and support smooth dining room operations while upholding high service standards.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to multitask in a busy setting, with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service, hospitality, restaurant, or retail experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests, team members, and management.
• Strong customer service orientation and a genuine passion for guest experiences.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong multitasking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating efficiently and accurately.
• Basic computer and POS system skills preferred.
• Must be available to work any shift, on any day of the week, based on business needs and seniority.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Stand and walk for extended periods and perform duties requiring movement.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a warm, friendly demeanor to create a positive atmosphere.
• Provide exceptional guest service, answer inquiries, and assist guests as needed.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and in line with procedures.
• Greet guests and assist with seating at tables.
• Manage reservations and waitlists using a computerized system.
• Answer phone calls and respond to online inquiries promptly.
• Address guest complaints and concerns gracefully and professionally.
• Help maintain a clean and organized dining room.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
