Job summary

Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey, CA, is seeking a Host/Greeter to warmly welcome guests, seat them, and manage reservations to ensure a superb dining experience.

This role requires excellent communication, multitasking, and basic POS skills, with availability for flexible shifts including evenings and weekends. Davidson Hospitality Group operates this Hyatt property and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service, hospitality, restaurant, or retail experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests, team members, and management.
• Strong customer service orientation and a genuine passion for creating positive guest experiences.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong multitasking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating efficiently and accurately.
• Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system skills preferred.
• Must be available to work any shift, on any day of the week, based on business needs and seniority. This position has no set schedule, fixed shifts, or guaranteed days off
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform duties requiring frequent movement throughout the restaurant.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a positive team‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to maintain a polished and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests at the Restaurant with a warm and friendly demeanor, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere
• Provide exceptional guest service, answering inquiries, and assisting guests with their needs
• Efficiently handle cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures
• Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating them at their tables
• Manage reservations and waitlists using a computerized system
• Answer phone calls and respond to online inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Handle guest complaints and concerns with grace and professionalism
• Help maintain a clean and organized dining room
• Other duties as assigned
