Job summary

ASH Hotels’ Hotel Ulysses in Baltimore is seeking an engaging Host who thrives on guest interaction. You will warmly welcome guests, manage reservations using Resy, guide them to tables, and maintain a welcoming, clean host stand while coordinating with service staff to ensure smooth dining experiences.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year in hospitality or food service, weekend availability, and a guest-first attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or design-related training a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience as a host or in food service.
• Exceptional attention to visual detail and cleanliness.
• A calm, collaborative, and professional demeanor with a guest-first mindset.
• Weekend availability.
• Compensation: $16 per hour plus tips.

Responsibilities

• Welcome each guest warmly and respond to guests' requests and inquiries in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
• Make guests feel appreciated through your actions.
• Work as a team with all personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and wait lists using the Resy platform.
• Monitor wait times and provide accurate estimates to guests.
• Escort guests to their tables, present menus, provide water, and inform them of their server.
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand, entrance, and entrance area.
• Communicate guest needs or special occasions to service staff with management and staff.
• Monitor the dining room, entryway, and guest flow to optimize seating and minimize wait times.
• Ensure menus are clean and properly presented.
• Uphold grooming and uniform standards at all times.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with company and health department guidelines.
• Assist with other front-of-house duties as needed, including light bussing, resetting tables, or support during events, cleaning, polishing, stocking
• Other duties as assigned
