Qualifications

• Customer service experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker greets, engages and assists customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow post office or coupon procedures as applicable.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads; adhere to all safety regulations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; help maintain safe environment.
• Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs with appropriate departments.
• Answer customer questions about products to create a welcoming store experience.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines; work well under pressure.
