Qualifications

• Basic arithmetic and counting skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers while maintaining a visible presence on the sales floor.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP/EBT, WIC, coupons) per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Enforce restrictions on sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs) as required.
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons; stay current with ads.
• Maintain food safety guidelines and safety procedures; identify and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist with equipment checks and notify management of needed repairs.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines; handle conflicts calmly.
