Job summary

Pick 'n Save is seeking a friendly cashier/checker to enhance the shopping experience. You will greet customers, assist with inquiries and perform transactions at the checkout with accuracy and speed.

The role requires knowledge of POS systems, handling various payment methods, staying updated on promotions, and following safety and loss-prevention policies. You will support a welcoming, compliant store environment and assist customers of all ages as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers to create an outstanding shopper experience.
• Process customer transactions at the check lane quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, rain checks, and loyalty offers per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow policy for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; maintain food safety and comply with safety procedures.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs; create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued.
• Comply with local, state, and federal laws and store guidelines; manage conflicts calmly.
• Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
