Job summary

Pick 'n Save is hiring a part-time cashier/checker in Fitchburg, WI. You will greet and assist customers, process transactions at the checkout, and operate the POS system efficiently while following policy guidelines and safety standards.

You will handle various tender types, adhere to cash handling limits, and contribute to a welcoming store atmosphere. Prior experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credits, and other tender types per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling, loss prevention and restricted item guidelines (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Maintain food safety standards and safe store environment.
• Provide friendly service to all customers, including minors and adults with needs.
• Support store management and collaborate with team in high-paced situations.
