Job summary

Kroger in Saint Francis, WI is seeking a Cashier/Checker to deliver outstanding customer service at the checkout and maintain a safe, clean store environment. You will greet customers, process transactions, and adhere to policies on cash handling, discounts, and restricted items.

As part of Store Operations, you will stay informed about ads and promotions while supporting loss prevention and safety practices. Previous experience as a bagger or courtesy clerk is a plus; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Experience or ability to handle multiple tenders and coupons per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, and other tenders per policy.
• Maintain loss prevention by following cash handling guidelines and detecting discrepancies.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Stay current with ads and promotions; follow safety regulations.
• Ensure a safe, clean environment and assist with equipment maintenance as needed.
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues effectively.
