Job summary

Responsibilities

• Greeting, engaging and assisting customers throughout the store
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane
• Understand POS system and handle tenders (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons) according to company policy
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety guidelines
• Support safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions
• Assist with preventive maintenance by reporting items needing repair
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome by answering product questions
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced or stressful environments
• Manage conflict in a respectful, cooperative manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues
• Support and assist through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
