Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a hospitality-focused team member in San Diego to expedite food from kitchen to guests and set up the kitchen line for every meal. The role emphasizes guest-centric service, teamwork with catering, banquets, outlets, and guest services, and maintaining clean, orderly service areas.

The successful candidate will be able to carry out duties with a courteous, professional demeanor and support servers in delivering a memorable dining experience for guests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some prior food service experience preferred.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all assigned food production service areas in an orderly manner in compliance with sanitation and health regulations.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Deliver food from kitchen to guests table and announce food as it is placed in front of guest, if required.
• Assist the wait staff in the service of food in accordance with established standards.
• Set up station in the kitchen.
• Polishing of glassware and silverware.
• Maintain outside patio, removal of outside heaters and replacement of propane tanks.
• Maintain the orderly upkeep of coolers and storage areas.
• Assist with unloading of inventory as needed.
• Assist in table set up and cleaning when required.
