Job summary

RaceTrac, Inc. is seeking a Store Associate to join our team in a fast-paced guest-focused environment. You’ll help keep the store clean, stocked, and running smoothly, delivering friendly service at the register or self-checkout and promoting additional products to guests.

The role offers flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities for career growth from within. Training and development are provided to help you succeed in a dynamic retail setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or in progress).
• Previous experience in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment is a plus.
• A team player who takes the initiative and enjoys working with people.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like bending and standing.
• May be required to obtain and maintain food handler or alcohol server permits, depending on state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and teammates with a smile, responding promptly and courteously to both.
• Respond promptly and respectfully to management directions, and be flexible and capable of working in all areas of the store, including but not limited to food service, store cleaning, cash wrap, and stocking shelves/coolers.
• Prepares, handles, and serves food in accordance with safety and quality standards. Maintains a clean and organized food service area, ensures proper storage and labeling of ingredients, and adheres to all food safety regulations to deliver a great guest experience.
• Willing and able to clean all areas of the store, including breaking down food equipment and following established cleaning procedures. Ensures adherence to safety protocols when handling chemicals.
• Ensure shelves are fully stocked, and backrooms and coolers are clean, well-organized, and maintained.
• Operates the cash register efficiently and accurately, processes transactions, handles cash and card payments, and provides excellent guest service.
• Act as the first point of contact for guest concerns, responding respectfully and compassionately while recognizing when to elevate issues to the shift manager.
