Job summary

Terrain Cafe in Wayland, MA is hiring a Service Assistant to join our opening team starting August 10th. This entry-level role focuses on delivering timely, accurate service in a fast-paced dining room and supporting guests across service roles.

You’ll work with a collaborative URBN family (Terrain, Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outfitters), keeping spaces clean, learning menu details and allergen protocols, and helping teammates during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role suitable for individuals with a passion for details.
• Polished, professional appearance and team mindset.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends.
• Physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food and beverages accurately, with menu knowledge.
• Assist guests and relay questions to team leads.
• Clear and reset tables within 3 minutes of departure.
• Assist with packaging takeout orders.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness and organization.
• Polish and restock silverware, glassware, and plateware.
• Monitor and remove trash and recycling.
• Ensure safe walkways for guests and staff.
• Mmonitize? memorise table and seat numbers to aid in service.
• Learn menu details, ingredients and allergen protocols.
• Communicate guest concerns clearly to team leads.
• Assist FOH during high-volume periods.
• Help with opening and closing duties, including setting/resetting dining room.
