Job summary

Museum of American Speed is seeking a Front Desk Associate to warmly welcome guests, manage admissions and gift shop sales, and support front desk operations in a museum setting. The role involves engaging visitors, handling transactions, stocking displays, and maintaining a tidy reception area.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to work public museum hours including weekends, and a genuine interest in automotive history.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to work museum public hours, including Saturday mornings and occasional events.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Retail or hospitality experience preferred.
• Interest in automotive history.
• Event support experience a plus.
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist museum guests in a professional, friendly, and engaging manner.
• Answer questions regarding museum exhibits, programs, and events.
• Handle admission sales, gift shop purchases both in store and online, and other transactions using the POS system.
• Restock and organize gift shop merchandise, ensuring displays are tidy and appealing.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming reception and retail space.
• Balance cash drawers and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.
• Provide general administrative support to museum staff as needed.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.
